Desert Document Services Forms All SMART and eMortgage Ready
-- DesertDocs forms library available for view, print and delivery anywhere, anytime --
PHOENIX, AZ - Monday, October 20, 2003 - Desert Document Services®, Inc., (DesertDocs®) will complete the conversion of more than 35,000 documents in their expansive forms library to XHTML format, allowing documents prepared through their seasoned web applications BrokerDocs® and DesertDocs® Web to be viewed, printed and delivered anywhere, anytime.
Utilizing the advantages of the Internet and XML technologies, DesertDocs enables users of their web applications to create and print all documents to any printer, in any format, streamlining the digital delivery of documents.
"XHTML formatting is the necessary step to creating a truly seamless and integrated eMortgage," said Ruth Thompson, CEO/President of Desert Document Services, Inc. "DesertDocs can now give every bank, broker, correspondent, credit union and wholesaler the option to have an electronic file for any loan that has documents prepared using our hosted web applications, extending the use and purpose of all the data collected in closing documents."
This revolutionizing functionality provides lenders the flexibility to do everything from viewing actual completed forms on-line, sending the data to another system as a SMART PakSM XML or simply outputting to any printer. No longer are lenders restricted to older technologies such as desktop applications, faxing, paper files or printers from a specific manufacturer.
DesertDocs has successfully been using XML technology for more than three years to move data in and out of the system, from origination and underwriting software all the way through post-closing services.
"Utilizing all the data that appears on the forms in a closing package through our XHTML forms and our SMART Pak technology, lenders will significantly save time and money by dramatically improving the speed of processing, closing and funding," said Thompson. "Borrower satisfaction will increase because lenders and borrowers alike can view their docs on the Internet with just a browser, prior to signing."
"Our customers have already benefited by the reduced costs of using a true hosted web application because we eliminate the costs of technical infrastructure and support for desk-top applications," said Tim Underwood, CTO, Desert Document Services, Inc. "Now we are going to save our customers more money because they can print on any printer, at any time, view documents for pre- and post-auditing and most importantly eliminate data re-entry between different systems by accessing the data right off the form."
The forms conversion is the final step before launching the DesertDocs SMART Pak and SMARTIE PakSM product line in 2004. A SMART Pak is the output of a complete closing package data set that will include data, formats, mapping and calculations. A SMARTIE Pak includes integration and extension tools within the package for extracting and embedding data forms. "SMART Pak and SMARTIE Pak technology will define the industry standard in moving closing document information all the way through the mortgage process up to and including digital signature, recording and storage as a single data file," said Underwood.
